All web pages in this ring must pertain to the White Shepherd (white German Shepherd Dog). Multi-breed and/or commerical sites will generally not qualify for membership in this Ring.
Private kennel pages, club pages, breed rescue pages or organizations and sites about your family companions are welcomed and encouraged.
Sites that promote commercial (for profit) kennels or breeders or irresponsible (backyard) breeders or breeding practices will be excluded. Likewise, any pages that simply advertise dogs or puppies for sale are expressly forbidden from this ring.
All sites are expected to provide some information on the breed itself, even if this consists only of some links to the different breed clubs. However, sites made up of *only* links or pictures will generally not qualify.
Most commercial product pages will not qualify for entry into this ring. However, if you have a WS/wGSD-related craft or product that you sell, please do feel free to join this ring! Good looking WS stuff is hard to come by...
Sites that promote the breeding of wolfdogs (wolf hybrids) or ANY mixed-breed dogs will absolutely NOT qualify! Likewise, sites that, in the opinion of the ring owner, promote the breeding of dogs for any perceived "rare" attribute such as size, temperament or other such undesirable traits or sites that promote blood sports such as bull-baiting or dog fighting will NOT be allowed! Don't even bother applying...
All pages in the ring MUST be acceptable for viewing by all age groups. NO EXCEPTIONS!
The ring owner *must* be able to read your site in order to determine eligibility. Therefore, every site must be in English or include a complete English translation of the site. For more information on installing the ring navigation bar on multi-lingual sites, please see the instructions, below...
There is room enough in this ring for all groups and opinions. However, sites which defame one kennel or breeding program (or line) of dogs and/or one club or organization over another are expressly forbidden as they are disrespectful to other ring members and hurtful to the breed. Such pages will be denied membership or removed from the ring.
Acceptance to and continuing participation in this webring is at the sole discretion of the ring owner based upon site content, quality and other considerations. If your pages do not or cannot be made to follow the above rules, then please do not go further. Failure to abide by these simple rules will force the immediate removal of the offending site from this ring.
To join this Ring, go directly to the Ring Hub at Webring.org and click the "Join this Ring" button. Follow the simple directions you will find there. It takes only a few moments to join.
After completing the application process, you *may* be required to add the Ring Navigation Bar to your web site. Please see further information and instructions, below.
At this point, your page will be added to the Ring "queue" where it will remain until it is added to the Ring. Getting your page or site in the queue does not mean it has been added to the Ring and is not a guarantee that it will be added. The queue is merely a temporary holding area and is cleared automatically by Webring.org every thirty (30) days...
Webring.org will notify the Ring owner that your site has been submitted to the queue. The Ring owner will check each site within a few days of notification that the page has entered the queue. If the Ring Navigation Bar is installed properly and everything checks out, your site will be added to the Ring.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The whole point of a web ring is that all sites in the ring are connected to each other in a never-ending circle. You click through the ring from one site to another until, eventually, you end up right back where you started. Therefore, before your site can be added to this Ring, you will need to install the Ring Navigation Bar -- the bit of Javascript code that makes the ring work -- on the first page of your site. (This will be the page your site URL points directly to.) Webring.org must *ALWAYS* be able to find and access the navigation script on your site in order to remain a member of this Ring. If you move, remove or tamper with the navigation bar or if you turn off Javascript, your site will be removed from this Ring. We cannot add or allow any pages or sites unless these navigation bars are present and properly working because without them, the entire ring fails!
INSTALLING THE NAVIGATION BAR:
First, decide whether you even need to install a bar. If your site is already a member of another Webring.org ring, you will not have to install anything else! If this is the first Ring you are joining, then you will need to do the install. Determine where to place the Ring Navigation Bar. The bar should be placed somewhere on the first (main) page of your website -- the one the URL at Webring.org will point directly to.
If your site has different pages with different topics, you should place the ring graphic on the first page that deals with the setter breeds or topics.
As a general rule of thumb, web rings do not work well with sites that utilize frames unless the ring graphic is placed on the main or first page of the frame.
DO NOT BURY THE GRAPHIC on a separate "Links" page. The graphic should be plainly visible to all who enter your site. This will enable people to browse easily from one site to the next within the Ring. If you MUST use a separate "webrings" page, please provide a link from that page to your main site entry and back again!
If the Ring owner cannot get your site to work reasonably well, you will be asked to move or reinstall the graphic or your page will be removed from the Ring.
PLEASE NOTE: Webring.org must always be able to find and access the correct navigation script on your site in order to remain a member of this Ring. If you move, remove or tamper with the navigation bar in any way or if you turn off Javascript, your site will be removed from this Ring.
You may have noticed a working custom graphic similar to the one shown below on the main page of this site as well as on other member sites within this Ring. Unfortunately, due to too many mistakes, problems and other annoying snafus involving this code, (ever since Webring.org was taken over by Yahoo and then sold back to Webring), I am no longer offering my custom ring code to the general public! Please DO NOT INSTALL or attempt to copy my graphic!!! I will not allow any new site into my Ring if they sport this incorrect HTML graphic. Those who currently have a working copy may continue using it, but all new members MUST install the default Navigation Bar .
NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
